The Sustainable Business COP (SB COP) is a global initiative led by the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI), launching at COP30 but extending to future COPs, with the aim of structuring and strengthening private sector participation in global climate negotiations.  

Recognized by the Brazilian Government and aligned with the Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action, SB COP seeks to establish a permanent channel for business contributions, influence the global climate agenda, enhance private sector presence in multilateral processes, and drive concrete actions towards decarbonization, low carbon economy, and climate finance. 

Mission

To serve as a formal and continuous platform for the business community to build consensus and set priorities on policies to address global climate challenges. 

Goal

Mobilize companies and investors for concrete climate action and establish a permanent business engagement mechanism that tracks and influences the evolution of global commitments, especially within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). 

About SB COP

The initiative is fully aligned with the governance of COP 30 and seeks to strengthen the dialogue between companies and governments to influence public and regulatory policies, based on business proposals for incentives for decarbonization and sustainable innovation, ensure the representativeness of the private sector in the climate agenda, considering the generation of insights and recommendations for Brazil's position at the COP, as well as create a structured public-private collaboration channel, ensuring that the business sector is a strategic partner in the implementation of the country's climate commitments.

SB COP Priorities

The work of SB COP is structured around eight working groups that are dedicated to developing concrete recommendations, initiatives and commitments. These groups will bring together leaders and experts across different sectors to contribute to the challenges of climate change 

from diverse economic sectors to strategize and formulate recommendations for a more equitable, sustainable, and prosperous world.
